KAREN WAPLES - Owner/Manager
Karen has a strong passion for the travel industry, and has worked her way up through the ranks, until today, where she finds herself as an Owner Manager of Travelscene Taigum. She has corporate as well as leisure experience.
Karen prides herself on her ability to give excellent customer service, going the extra mile for all her clients.
Constantly upgrading her knowledge base about destinations and products, so that clients receive the latest information.

Maureen Colthurst - Consultant
Maureen joined Travelscene Taigum in 2006. She has found her passion in travel and looks forward to helping plan and organise her clients holidays. She can tell you about Norfolk Island, Europe, and New Zealand. Recently she travelled to Daydream Island with her family, and can tell you about this beautiful Whitsunday destination
Maureen has travelled to Canada this year to experience the touring of the Rockies in Winter. Talk to her about walking on water and the spectuclar rail journey between Vancouver and Whistler. She also visited the South Island of New Zealand and toured in a motorhome and can give first hand experience about this style of travel.
Samantha Baker
Samanthan joined Travelscene Taigum as a Travel Cadet in August 2007. She has accredited in many of travel desitinations and styles of travel to give you and experienced view of your holidays.
She has traveled to USA, with knowledge in San Francisco and Las Vegas.
OFFICE AUTOMATION
We have the world-wide Sabre Computer Reservation System (CRS) installed in our office. This on-line system provides each consultant with an unbiased display of all current airline availability and fare information. Access to hotel reservation information, tour companies, car rental companies, coach reservations and travel insurance are also available through the system. Instant bookings and confirmations are made through the CRS. Tickets are issued by our Travelscene Ticketing centre.
PRICE CONFIDENCE AND PRODUCT ACCESS
We operate on the "best fare available" principle on your selected airline(s), tour and accommodation. We will shop around our travel industry contacts, taking into account your particular requirements and stipulations. We will then tailor the best available options and fare available within your criteria for your consideration. This task can be time-consuming if your itinerary is complex but it is part of the service to our regular clients.
It is a common fallacy that you will get a cheaper deal by going straight to the airline or operator. We will often be able to better the advertised price or fare quote.
Please talk to us about any travel deals you see advertised in the media. Travelscene Taigum will also have access to just about all of them. Alternatively, we could find other close alternatives to satisfy your needs and price range.
We have good relations with most airlines, travel wholesalers and hotel chain representatives (often enabling us to negotiate better rates and conditions for our clients). Travelscene Taigum has close relationships with Qantas, British Airways, Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines, and many others, often enabling us to have airline waitlists cleared and any problems resolved expediently.
